Qualification for registration |
Prerequisites (Applicants must meet the following two requirements):
1. Applicants must hold a bachelor's or equivalent degree.
2. Applicants must have Post-baccalaureate work experiences that are in special education related field such as teaching, research, educational administration, social work or medical rehabilitation. Proof documents must be submitted. |

Test items |
1. Written Test :
(1) Topics and Issues in Special Education
(2) English Comprehension Test (will be based on readings related to topics in special education)
2. Review of documents such as mater's thesis, other academic publications, research proposals, and study plans.
3. Interview: topics will include the interviewee's special education philosophy, research proposals and study plans. |

Criteria for admission when applicants score the same on the final scores |
When applicants score the same on their final scores, they will be admitted based on the higher score in the following numeric order: The written test score, the document review score, and the interview score. |
Document Review |
1. Master's thesis or academic research publications (three copies). Please attach a Chinese abstract if the work mentioned above was in a foreign language.
2. Please submit three copies of publications (must be special education related) published in recent three years.
3. A research proposal approximately in 6000 words (Please submit six copies).
4. A study plan which includes your resume and career goals. Please submit six copies.
5. Three copies of college and graduate transcripts.
6. A proof document of full-time work experiences.
7. All documents mentioned above need to be submitted before deadline. |
Requirements |
1. The written test score accounts for 40% of the final score.
2. The document review score accounts for 30% of the final score.
3. The oral examination (interview) score accounts for 30% of the final score.
4. Unfilled vacancies in one program will be shared with another one.
5. The Department of Special Education will accommodate the special needs of applicants with disabilities in any way. Please submit a copy of the eligibility document with the registration forms before the deadline.
6. Students will be required to take extra credit hours in undergraduate special education courses if their bachelor's degrees are not in this field. |
