       *There are two ways that the potential candidates can be admitted into the graduate         programs (including the program of children with special needs and the one of         giftedness):

        (1) The Recommendation-and-Selection Track, and

        (2) The Written-Examination Track.

4.  Three recommendation letters.

5.  Proof document of full-time teaching experiences in special education. (Please submit one copy)

6.  Other related documents such as professional certificates, honors, awards, publications, and research reports.

7. Documents of volunteer experiences acquired in five years.

Criteria for admission when applicants score the same on their final scores

When applicants score the same on their final scores, they will be admitted based on the higher score in the following numeric order:

For Program of Children with Special Needs:

1.  the total score on the specialty examinations,

2.  the score on Introduction to Special Education,

3.  the score on Diagnosis and Assessment of Children with Special Needs,

4. the score on Theories in Special Education, and.

5. the score on Chinese Comprehension Test

 

For Program of Giftedness:

1. the total score on the specialty examinations,

2. the score on Introduction to Special Education

3. the score on Diagnosis and Assessment of Children with Giftedness

4. the score on Creativity and Reasoning

5. the score on Chinese Comprehension Test

 

Requirements

1. Applicants must decide what program they want to register for the entrance examination.

2.  The full score for each test item is 100.

3. The entrance examination includes a written test and an interview. Applicants who register for the Special Education Program and score 22 percent ahead will be notified for the oral examination. Applicants who register for the Gifted Program and score 16 percent ahead will be notified for the oral examination. The fee for the oral examination is NT$ 1000.

4.  Scoring:

   Each common examination accounts for 12.5% of the written test score. Each specialty examinations accounts for 25% of the written test score. (The written test score = 2 x 12.5% + 3 x 25%)

5. The full score for the interview is 100.

6. The final score = 70% of the written test score + 30% of the oral test score.

7. The Department of Special Education will accommodate the special needs of applicants with disabilities in any way. Please submit a copy of the eligibility document with the registration forms before the deadline.

8. Students will be required to take extra credit hours in undergraduate special education courses if their bachelor's degrees are not in this field.

9. Unfilled vacancies of one program will be shared with another one.
