National Taiwan Normal University Visiting Scholars Program (*download the Application Form)
 

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) is committed to enhancing academic exchange and mutual collaboration with academic institutions around the world. For this purpose NTNU would like to have a twice-a-year program inviting faculty members or researchers of foreign universities to visit NTNU. Grants are now available to support these visits with details as follows.

¡ESUBJECT

¡E¡§Full-time¡¨ faculty members, researchers (post-doctoral excluded) and retired emeritus professors from international universities

¡EVALUE OF GRANT

¡EFor sister universities:

  1. A round-trip fight ticket, economy class, direct route (Upper limit confined to the funding guidelines of R.O.C. government)
  2. Daily stipend of NTD800 (after tax,) up to 2 months
  3. Single room accommodation with shared living room and kitchen (extra fee charged for accompanying dependents)
  4. Access to NTNU facilities as faculties

¡EFor non-sister universities:

  1. A round-trip fight ticket, economy class, direct route (Upper limit confined to the funding guidelines of R.O.C. government)
  2. Daily stipend of NTD2,400 (after tax,) up to 7 days

¡EOBLIGATIONS

  1. To give two lectures at NTNU
  2. To submit a short report or suggestions (about 500 words) on the exchange experience at NTNU

¡EAPPLICATION

  1. Contact interested department/institute/program for primary invitation
  2. Send the application form (as attached) completed, curriculum vitae, detailed 2-or-3-page research proposal (with a description of how the applicant¡¦s research would benefit from a visit to NTNU), one recommendation letter from an administrative officer who is in charge of the Exchange Program at applicant¡¦s university and other necessary documents required by host department to host department via both e-mail and post/fax
  3. The host department will submit the applications for evaluation

¡EDEADLINE

¡EThe Office of International Affairs shall receive applications ¡§with¡¨ host departments¡¦ invitation letters by the following dates:

  1. April 30 for grant duration from July to December
  2. October 31 for grant duration from January to June in next year

¡EEVALUATION & ANNOUNCEMENT

¡EThe NTNU committee will evaluate through applications and announce the granted ones to both host departments and foreign applicants in late November and late May respectively
