貳、獎學金須知 Scholarships for the Nominees
一、交換學生獎學金Exchange Student Scholarships
由本校依合約提供每名受獎學生每月生活補助費新臺幣壹萬伍仟元整。
This award, offered by the NTNU, provides the nominees with the amount of NT$15,000 (About US$500) per month by contract.

二、教育部普通獎學金 Regular Scholarships
由教育部提供每名受獎學生學雜費及每月生活補助費新臺幣壹萬伍仟元整。
Ministry of Education provides each awarded student with the amount of NT$15,000 (About US$500) per month.
申請資格：國語中心正式生（一期3個月，每週上課10小時以上），品行良好，無任何不良紀錄者。每年三月及九月各舉行一次獎學金申請考試。
For students who are currently enrolled at the MTC, have been with the Center for at least three months, and are in good standing. Regular Scholarship tests are required and generally held twice a year (March and September).
獲獎條件：獲得獎學金學生的學業成績總平均須八十五分以上，行為表現無不良紀錄，此外在學季中，單月缺課超過十小時以上，將失去獎學金資格。
Candidates should have academic record above 85 out of 100 in average.
As for awarded students, an absence of over 10 hours within a month will immediately lose their scholarship for duration of their studies.

一、國語中心團體意外保險
1、Mandatory Group Health Insurance at MTC
- 保險費：以三個月為一期，每人每期234元。
The premium：3 months for the regular term, the premium is NT$234 (About US$7).

二、海外醫療保險
2、Abroad Health & Accident Insurance
強烈建議在國內自行投保海外醫療保險以涵蓋在台期間為基期，請聯絡國內保險公司處理個人保險需求問題。
Highly recommend the students to have abroad health insurance plans for the entire duration of their stay in Taiwan. Please contact the insurance company of the home country to meet all the personal insurance requirements.

四、圖書館Library
1. 相關規定：
憑學生證進入圖書館，若有需要借書，請於總館典藏組填妥借書證申請表，並請國語中心主任簽章後，附國語中心學員證、一吋照片一張，及繳交兩千元保證金（退證時無息領回保證金），以便辦理圖書館之借書證。
2. 辦、退證時間：週一至週六上午八時至十一時五十五分及下午二時至四時五十分。
3. 諮詢電話：886-2-23625101轉校內分機8203或8240。
Students can enter the library with student ID. However, if books and library materials have to be checked out, a library card is required. To apply for the library Card, please provide the circulation desk with a completed application form with the endorsement of the Chairman of MTC, one passport-size photo, and NT$2000 deposit. Office hours for applying the library card are Monday through Saturday 8:00 to 11:55 and 14:00 to 16:50. For further information, please call 886-2-23625101 ext. 8203, 8240.
五、電子計算機中心 Computer Center
開放時間：
週一至週六上午八時至下午十時，週日及假日（除春節、清明節等特殊節日外），上午八時至下午五時。未排定上課或出借的時間，皆開放並提供本校學生自由上機使用。
Computer Center will be available to NTNU students when no classes or workshops are held. The open hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:00 ~ 22:00, Sunday and Holidays from 8:00 ~ 17:00. (Note: The center is closed on some special holidays, such as Chinese New Year, Tomb Sweeping Day, etc.)
六、健康中心Student Health Center
1. 掛號時間：上午八時至十一時三十分，下午一時三十分至四時三十分。
2. 到診時間：上午八時三十分至十一時四十分，下午一時三十分至四時四十分。
資格：憑學生證掛號免費就診。
Patients are seen by appointment. Hours for setting an appointment are Monday through Friday, 08:00~11:30 and 13:30~16:30. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30~11:40 and 13:30~16:40.

The General procedures of course registration are as follows:
- 請自行至國際事務處索取選課表，並將欲選課表送交課務組及註冊組辦理選課事宜。
Selecting courses please get the form in the Office of International Affairs. Submit your course selection sheet to the Curriculum Division and the Registration Division.

需付費五十元。
A fee of NT$50 (About US$1.5) is required per transcript. Please contact the MTC front desk.

捌、簽證須知RESIDENT VISA & ARC information
辦證程序Application Processes
居留簽證Resident Visa
- 至外交部領事事務局辦理『居留簽證』（可加辦多次出入簽證），約可入境一年。
請帶護照、入學許可信、照片兩張、申請費2200元，至外交部領事事務局辦理。

Information on Republic of China Resident Visa
Eligible Persons |
Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other legal travel documents, who intend to stay in the Republic of China for more than six months for the purpose of joining family, pursuing studies, accepting employment, making investments, doing missionary work, or engaging in other permissible activities. |
Requirements |
- A passport valid for at least six months;
- A duly completed application form with two 2x2 inch color photos taken within from the last six months.
- Supporting documents or official letters of approval from a competent authority of the ROC; and
- Other relevant documents.
- Health Certificate if applicable

Visa Validity |
A Resident Visa is valid for three months. |
Duration of stay |
Resident Visa holders are required to apply for the Alien Resident Certificate and Re-entry Permit at local service of Ministry of Interior National Immigration Agency within 15 days after their arrival. They may stay in the ROC as long as the Alien Resident Certificate remains valid. |
Fee |
- NT$ 2,200(US$ 66) for single entry; NT$3,000(US$90) for multiple entry.
- The Visa application fee is NT$3,600(US$100) for US citizens.
- An additional handling charge of NT＄800 shall apply to applications made in the ROC by visitor visa holders applying for change or replacement of visitor visa or resident visa.
- For foreign nationals from the countries with which the ROC has entered into reciprocal agreements, the Resident Visa is issued gratis.

Remarks |
If foreign nationals who have entered the ROC with Visitor Visas are subsequently legally employed in the ROC, they may make the necessary change from their Visitor Visa into a Resident Visa in this country directly.
The above regulations do not apply to blue collar workers or those who enter the ROC via the visa exemption program or landing visa. |
