The Language and Culture Study Group from NTNU¡¦s Sister University
in Japan, Utsunomiya University, was led by Dr. Kimimasa MATSKANE
of International Studies . 10 students received a 3-week language
and culture training from Aug. 17 to Sep. 7 given by Mandarin
Training Center¡]MTC¡^. They were taught by two teachers in separate
classes and gave a final presentation at 2:30pm, Sep. 5. Prof.
Iping Liang, Director of Division of Academic Cooperation, was
invited to attend the presentation. She made a brief speech expressing
her wish for the students and expecting them to keep learning
Chinese Mandarin even after they go back to Japan. The presentation
began right after the gifts exchange between Dr. MATSKANE and
Prof. Liang. The students sang several songs in chorus and shared
what they¡¦d learned in Mandarin with the illustration of slides.
They made the presentation interesting and fun. In the end, each
student received a copy of CD-Rom from MTC, which recorded the
group life in Taiwan. The whole language and culture training
course ended in such a pleasant atmosphere that it will surely
be unforgettable for everyone.
