Traditional Indonesian dancing and a variety of local cuisines from different countries were presented when the International Culture Fair was launched today.
"Through events like this, we have chances to get to know more about different cultures.? For instance, I would have never known that this kind of traditional Indonesian dancing would be perform to honor the deity if I did not come here today,¡¨ said Kate Tsai, (½²¨Ø°a), an English freshman.
Office of International Affairs staff member Lee Yu-ping (§õ¥ÉµÓ) said that the event was promoted and advertised a lot prior to the grand opening day because it was the first year for the event, which was expected to be annual.
"We want to make a big entrance so more people would be aware of it,¡¨ she said.
Macau student Wung Iong-keong (¶À«i±j), a sophomore from the Department of Health Promotion and Health Education, enjoyed and affirmed the activity.
"Students from different countries have a chance to meet with each other, learn from each other and share with each other.? It is good bonding,¡¨ he said.
