Chinese Courses Introduction
 

 Credit-bearing Chinese Courses

Eligibility

1. International students whose TOP scores do not meet the criteria set by the departments.    (Click to see the list of the language requirement of each program^
2. International students who would like to improve their Chinese proficiency.

Course Selection

1. Application Dates:
It is open during the same period as the opening time for Online Course Selection to NTNU students.

Course Level

Basic Chinese
(For those who have learned Chinese for 0-120 hrs.)

Beginners Chinese
(For those who have learned Chinese for 120-240 hrs.)

Intermediate Chinese
(For those who have learned Chinese for 240-360 hrs.)

Advanced Chinese
(For those who have learned Chinese for more than 360 hrs.)

Note: You can either calculate the hours by yourself or consult TCSL staff to find out the level of course recommended based on your past Chinese learning experiences.

Features

It is an optional course, lasting for one semester with four credits. There will be two classes open for each level.

Course Time

Two hours a day, two days a week.
18:30- 20:15, every Mon. and Wed. or Tue. and Thu.

Number of Students

Minimum number of students per class: 1
Maximum number of students per class: 10

Faculty members

Faculty members from the Graduate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.

Fee

Undergraduates: No extra fee needed unless the total credits you are taking has reached the maximum credits set by the university.
Graduate students: Credit fee needed.

One-on-One Mandarin Tutorial

Eligibility

International students who need some help in learning Chinese

Application Procedure

Come to the Office of International Affairs to request the Application Form for One-on-One Mandarin Tutorial, fill out the form and submit it to R1001, 10F, Bo-ai Building

Application Deadline

Within two weeks after the beginning of each semester.

Two hours a week, arranged between the applicant and the tutor assigned

Taiwanese graduate students from the Graduate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.

Free of charge

Test Fee: NTD1,000
